Navidad 2020 Gargantilla y Segura de Toro

 Hemos llegado al final de este trimestre, y con él, al final de este año tan extraño y tan duro que hemos sufrido. Debido a estas circunstancias nos hemos visto obligados a suspender todas las actividades previstas, las actuaciones, los villancicos y todo lo que teníamos pensado. Pese a todo no nos hemos resistido a irnos de vacaciones sin preparar unas actuaciones, las hemos grabado y las hemos mezclado y nos han quedado unas felicitaciones navideñas muy bonitas. Las hemos hecho con mucho cariño y son muy emotivas, y además contienen un mensaje de esperanza para todos....

Esperamos que os gusten... y esperamos que el próximo año sea mucho mejor para todos.

We have reached the end of this term, and with it, the end of this strange and hard year that we have suffered. Due to these circumstances we have been forced to suspend all planned activities, performances, Christmas carols and everything we had in mind. In spite of everything we have not resisted going on vacation without preparing some performances, we have recorded and mixed them and we have got some very nice Christmas greetings. We have made them with great affection and they are very emotional, and they also contain a message of hope for everyone ...

 

We hope you like them ... and we hope that next year will be much better for everyone.

THANKSGIVING DAY 2020

 El pasado jueves 26 de noviembre celebramos el Thanksgiving Day (Día de Acción de Gracias) en Segura de Toro y en Gargantilla. Esta fiesta quiere conmemorar el encuentro entre los nativos americanos y los colonos ingleses que llegaron a esas tierras y que lograron convivir en paz y en armonía, sembrando y recolectando las cosechas y ayudándose en todas las tareas, que finalmente celebraban con un gran banquete que duraba tres días. Hoy en día es una festividad para estar en familia, ver los desfiles por las calles y comer deliciosos alimentos, sobre todo, pavo.

Last Thursday, November 26, we celebrated Thanksgiving Day in Segura de Toro and in Gargantilla. This festival wants to commemorate the meeting between the Native Americans and the English pilgrims who arrived in those lands and who managed to live together in peace and harmony, sowing and harvesting the crops and helping each other in all the tasks, which they finally celebrated with a great banquet for three days. Today it is a holiday to be with the family, watch the parades through the streets and eat delicious food, especially, turkey

Nuestro asesor lingüístico, Derek, nos fue descubriendo, durante la semana, todos los secretos de esta celebración. Nos contó la historia, la forma de celebrarlo, los desfiles que se hacen y los diferentes alimentos que se comen para celebrar esta fiesta. El día de la celebración, con José Luis leímos un cuento, vimos unos videos, cantamos unas canciones, completamos unas fichas de repaso y por último hicimos unos pavos, con mensaje de agradecimiento incluido en sus plumas para hacer un mural. 

Our native teacher, Derek, was discovering us, during the week, all the secrets of this celebration. He told us the history, the way to celebrate it, the parades that are made and the different foods that are eaten to celebrate this festival. On the day of the celebration, with José Luis we read a story, we watched some videos, we sang some songs, we completed some review worksheets and finally we made some turkeys, with a thank you message included in their feathers to make a mural.

HALLOWEEN 2020

 
Tras un complicado comienzo de curso y después de haber superado los primeros inconvenientes que nos está ofreciendo esta atípica situación, nos centramos en la celebración de Halloween. Nuestros alumnos/as de Segura de Toro y de Gargantilla estaban muy ilusionados y listos para empezar a trabajar y a divertirse con las actividades que les teníamos preparadas.

After a complicated beginning of the course and after having overcome the first drawbacks that this atypical situation is offering us, we focus on the celebration of Halloween. Our students from Segura de Toro and Gargantilla were very excited and ready to start working and having fun with the activities we had prepared for them.

Los maestros/as y nuestro auxiliar, Derek, pusimos al día a todo el mundo con el diferente vocabulario, las tradiciones y las celebraciones típicas, y preparamos y explicamos un montón de actividades para trabajar y pasar una mañana terroríficamente divertida.

The teachers and our assistant, Derek, updated everyone with the different vocabulary, traditions and typical celebrations, and we prepared and explained a lot of activities to work and have a terrifyingly fun morning.

El día de la celebración, las aulas, los pasillos o el hall se convirtieron en lugares terroríficos, con mucha decoración, en las paredes, las puertas y por todo el colegio. Nuestros alumnos/as se disfrazaron para la fiesta, al igual que los maestros/as, y nos dispusimos a pasar una mañana divertida.

On the day of the celebration, the classrooms, corridors or hall became terrifying places, with a lot of decoration, on the walls, the doors and throughout the school. Our students dressed up for the party, as did the teachers, and we got ready to spend a funny morning.
