THANKSGIVING DAY IN VALDELAMATANZA
On Thursday November 29th in Valdelamatanza, we celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It's very typical in the United States and Canada, and it is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.
The celebration commemorates the good harvests of the settlers and farmers and thanking the gods, celebrating with a great feast. The main dish was the turkey. American families celebrate it in family. Besides turkey, other foods like mashed potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie or apple service, and drinking cider. After all they watch an american football game.
In recent years it's very successful the parade of giant balloons from Macy stores. It is very popular in New York.
In our school, Abby and José Luis showed us a video with all the details of the celebration and we made a poster with our colorful turkeys where we thanked our family, friends and teachers for the daily routine.

THANKSGIVING DAY IN VALDELAMATANZA
