St. Patrick's Day

 El pasado 17 de Marzo hemos festejado St. Patrick's Day con diferentes actividades en las localidades del CRA. Ha sido un día muy interesante donde hemos aprendido todo lo relacionado con el santo patrón, hemos indagado en los cuentos y leyendas típicos y nos hemos familiarizado con el vocabulario y con todo lo referente a Irlanda y sus personajes más tradicionales.

On March 17th we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with different activities in the CRA locations. It has been a very interesting day where we have learned everything related to the Patron Saint, we have investigated the typical tales and legends and we have become familiar with the vocabulary and with everything related to Ireland and its more traditional characters.

Tuvimos un día intenso, donde nos disfrazamos con los típicos colores, preparamos mucho material para decorar las aulas y los pasillos. Después escuchamos una leyenda que nos contó el Leprechaun y nos preparamos para el gran desafío y la búsqueda del tesoro, que nos tenían los profes preparados. Por último, bailamos y cantamos canciones tradicionales irlandesas  y terminamos haciendo unas bonitas manualidades. 

We had an intense day, where we dressed up with the typical colors, we had a lot of material to decorate the classrooms and hallways. Then we heard a legend that the Leprechaun told us and we prepared ourselves for the Great Challenge and the Treasure Hunt, which the teachers had prepared for us. Lastly, we danced and sang traditional Irish songs and ended up doing some nice crafts.

Ha sido un día muy interesante, donde hemos aprendido muchísimas cosas sobre Irlanda y sobre sus tradiciones. Una vez más hemos aprendido y a la vez nos hemos divertido. Esperamos tener más actividades próximamente.

It has been a very interesting day, where we have learned a lot about Ireland and its traditions. Once again we have learned and at the same time we have had fun. We wish to have more activities soon.

Ha sido un día estupendo, con muchas sorpresas, y en el que nos hemos divertido, a la vez que hemos aprendido...

Carnaval'21

 Pues ha llegado el Carnaval y, como no podía ser de otra manera, lo hemos disfrutado, de otra manera, a nuestra manera. No ha habido desfile, ni pasacalles, ni paseos por las calles...  Las circunstancias no nos lo han permitido...pero, no por eso nos íbamos a rendir...

Well, Carnival has arrived and, how could it be otherwise, we have enjoyed it, in another way, in our own way. There has been no parades, no rides, no walks through the streets ... Circumstances have not allowed us ... but, not for that reason we were going to give up ...

 

Pero los piratas han abordado nuestras aulas, y hemos celebrado una gran fiesta. Espadas, garfios, parches, patas de palo, catalejos, loros, banderas....un gran espectáculo. Hubo actividades, manualidades, bailes, cuentacuentos...y hasta una fantástica gymkhana con un delicioso tesoro...

But the pirates have boarded our classrooms, and we had a great party. swords, hooks, patches, peg legs, parrots, spyglasses, flags ... a big show. There were activities, crafts, dances, storytelling ... and even a fantastic gymkhana with a delicious treasure ...

Pasamos un gran día, en el que, una vez más, a la vez que nos divertimos, aprendemos muchas cosas.

We had a great day, in which, once again, while having fun, we learn many things.

Navidad 2020 Gargantilla y Segura de Toro

 Hemos llegado al final de este trimestre, y con él, al final de este año tan extraño y tan duro que hemos sufrido. Debido a estas circunstancias nos hemos visto obligados a suspender todas las actividades previstas, las actuaciones, los villancicos y todo lo que teníamos pensado. Pese a todo no nos hemos resistido a irnos de vacaciones sin preparar unas actuaciones, las hemos grabado y las hemos mezclado y nos han quedado unas felicitaciones navideñas muy bonitas. Las hemos hecho con mucho cariño y son muy emotivas, y además contienen un mensaje de esperanza para todos....

Esperamos que os gusten... y esperamos que el próximo año sea mucho mejor para todos.

We have reached the end of this term, and with it, the end of this strange and hard year that we have suffered. Due to these circumstances we have been forced to suspend all planned activities, performances, Christmas carols and everything we had in mind. In spite of everything we have not resisted going on vacation without preparing some performances, we have recorded and mixed them and we have got some very nice Christmas greetings. We have made them with great affection and they are very emotional, and they also contain a message of hope for everyone ...

 

We hope you like them ... and we hope that next year will be much better for everyone.

THANKSGIVING DAY 2020

 El pasado jueves 26 de noviembre celebramos el Thanksgiving Day (Día de Acción de Gracias) en Segura de Toro y en Gargantilla. Esta fiesta quiere conmemorar el encuentro entre los nativos americanos y los colonos ingleses que llegaron a esas tierras y que lograron convivir en paz y en armonía, sembrando y recolectando las cosechas y ayudándose en todas las tareas, que finalmente celebraban con un gran banquete que duraba tres días. Hoy en día es una festividad para estar en familia, ver los desfiles por las calles y comer deliciosos alimentos, sobre todo, pavo.

Last Thursday, November 26, we celebrated Thanksgiving Day in Segura de Toro and in Gargantilla. This festival wants to commemorate the meeting between the Native Americans and the English pilgrims who arrived in those lands and who managed to live together in peace and harmony, sowing and harvesting the crops and helping each other in all the tasks, which they finally celebrated with a great banquet for three days. Today it is a holiday to be with the family, watch the parades through the streets and eat delicious food, especially, turkey

Nuestro asesor lingüístico, Derek, nos fue descubriendo, durante la semana, todos los secretos de esta celebración. Nos contó la historia, la forma de celebrarlo, los desfiles que se hacen y los diferentes alimentos que se comen para celebrar esta fiesta. El día de la celebración, con José Luis leímos un cuento, vimos unos videos, cantamos unas canciones, completamos unas fichas de repaso y por último hicimos unos pavos, con mensaje de agradecimiento incluido en sus plumas para hacer un mural. 

Our native teacher, Derek, was discovering us, during the week, all the secrets of this celebration. He told us the history, the way to celebrate it, the parades that are made and the different foods that are eaten to celebrate this festival. On the day of the celebration, with José Luis we read a story, we watched some videos, we sang some songs, we completed some review worksheets and finally we made some turkeys, with a thank you message included in their feathers to make a mural.

Fue un gran día, dónde aprendimos muchas cosas y nos divertimos mucho. Os dejamos algunas fotos de este gran día en las diferentes aulas...
